SAS Online Tutorial |
These instructions are written for Windows NT 4.0, 1st-time, complete install of this product. Persons installing SAS PC with these instructions must have access to the campus local area network and must have a LAN account and password.
Academic Computing has licensed a number of SAS software products for campus-wide teaching and research use.
The products are available for Sun Solaris, HP/UX, and Windows operating systems and include:
Base SAS: must be installed to run most of other SAS products
SAS ACCESS: for accessing data used by other software packages. Most of the popular database software is supported
SAS AF: for writing interactive SAS applications
SAS ASSIST: menu-driven front end to SAS
SAS CALC: spreadsheet application
SAS CONNECT: connects computers running the SAS system
SAS EIS: for developing and using custom executive information systems
SAS ETS: for analysis of time-series data, forecasting, and business planning
SAS FSP: for interactive data entry, editing, and retrieval
SAS GIS: a graphic information system for analyzing data with spatial relationships
SAS GRAPH: produces plots, charts, and maps
SAS IML: Interactive Matrix Language, a programming language with an extensive set of mathematical and matrix operators
SAS INSIGHT: a tool for visual analysis of data
SAS LAB: for guided statistical analysis
SAS OR: provides procedure for project management and operations research
SAS QC: provides procedure for statistical quality improvement
SAS SPECTRAVIEW: a tool for analysis and visualization of 3-dimentional data
SAS STAT: has procedures for most types of statistical analysis
SAS TUTOR: an online tool for learning the SAS system
SAS is currently installed on all PCs in PAC 493. We will soon install it on PCs in other labs and smart classrooms.
To install SAS on your office PC:

at 206-7357 and open a service request. An Academic Computing staff
member will then contact you to make an appointment for installation.
